CR-RWA Meetings are held the second Saturday of the month, unless otherwise noted, at the East Greenbush Library (http://www.eastgreenbushlibrary.org). Meetings are open to people 18 years and over.

Noon to 1:00 PM – Social/Networking – This is an informal gathering of members to discuss industry news and catch up.

1:00 to 2:00 PM – Business/Membership Meeting – This hour is to discuss the business of the chapter, hear reports from various board and committee members and to share Member news.

2:00 to 3:30 PM – Program – This hour and a half is set aside to learn more about the craft and business of romantic fiction writing. Topics are generated from the membership. Presenters who are published authors are welcome and encouraged to bring their books for sale/signing.

Mr. Palmatier is the author of the Throne of Amenkor trilogy, Well of Sorrows, Leaves of Flame (under the pseudonym Benjamin Tate) and is an editor of After Hours: Tales From the Ur-Bar and The Modern Fae's Guide To Surviving Humanity.

From the Ground Up will be an interactive discussion and discovery of the basics of world building for that fantasy novel you have burning a hole in your brain. How does the setting affect the culture? How does the magic? What kind of religion would these people have and why? What kind of culture? All of these questions and more will be explored as Joshua Palmatier leads the group through some of the thought processes involved in creating an immersive and rich world, one where your story can come alive!

Kari Lee Townsend is the author of the tween superhero series called The Samantha Granger Experiment, as well as the cozy mystery series called The Fortune Teller Mysteries. She and her agent, Christine Witthohn of Book Cents Literary Agency, will be presenting a workshop called It's Not a Fluke, It's a Formula.

The workshop will focus on what it takes to sell in today's tough publishing world and how they landed two three-book deals just five months apart off partials, as well as the Hollywood interest that followed.
